Italy: at a stone's throw away from the International Pastry Grand Prix podium
At the IPGP (International Pastry Grand Prix) in Tokyo our three champions, Zanin, Galla and Volpe, lead by C.T Iginio Massari, have tried their best to bring home a victory, but the judges' decision has left us with a sour taste in our mouths...
Landing us in an uncomfortable fourth place 6 out of the 10 jurors, being French, noticeably influenced the result strongly penalizing the judgement on our cakes. In particular, the caramelised apples cake, flavoured with bergamot and passion fruit, surely deserved first place, but, for some unknown reason it slipped well below.
After the creation of the flours "Soft" and "Z", the Molino Dallagiovanna continues to reap successes, in fact, as well as having been selected as the sponsor to accompany our fellow-countrymen in the grand prix of confectionary in Tokyo, it will take centre stage in the great events with master Confectioner Achille Zoia.
Notwithstanding the above, the morale of the team remains high, partly because there have only been few training days, and because the IPGP has made it possible for us to introduce our sweets and the Dallagiovanna brand flour to Asia.
